I love target pharmacy!! I went to get my meds today, and figured while there, I'd ask about the safety if I was pregnant. She went back and printed the info sheets for me and then stood there and explained it to me. Everything except the vicoden is safe. By the way, I'm on Pepcid till the surgery, and Bentyl for the cramping/stomach related pains. Apparently it's for IBS mostly. And the pepcid says it's for reflux related issues. Side effects crack me up. Apparently pepcid can cause diarrhea. But the other one can cause constipation. Like I don't have enough issues already. Anyhow, I'm set with meds and do not even plan on taking that vicoden till I'm sure there isn't any chance of pregnancy.
For supper tonight I ate a small bowl of dry cherrios. Seriously a small one. Kristopher's spongebob sized bowl. I ate maybe a half cup of cherrios and felt too full and the pain is back. Really not horrible pain, but enough that I am not eating anything else tonight. Apparently that big attack done me in. I'll be glad to get this removed and over with even though I'm terrified of what is to come afterwards. I probably won't be eating anywhere but home for a while after surgery.
Interesting enough, my mom said she had her gall bladder removed at around 27. My aunt had hers removed around the same age. So I wonder if these issues are also genetic. Mom said she lost 15lbs in the 2 weeks waiting for her surgery. As sick as it is, that would be so cool if I lost that because I'd finally make it to my goal! Not the healthy way to do it but still kinda cool. Something good has to come from all this nastiness. At least it has scared me into eating a lot healthier.
I was also told by a friend who had hers removed that she was on restrictions for 2 weeks. No lifting, no driving, no exercise, no using the vacuum because of the movement....Now how am I supposed to go 2 weeks without vacuuming? I'm super picky and vacuum just about every day because of the dog. My husband is kind and says he will help, but I can see it now. "I just vacuumed 2 days ago!" And I better be able to drive fairly soon after. I need my freedom.
By the way, Happy Spring! I love spring.
I heart Target Pharmacy too. They are so helpful and I've had an issues with my prometrium from another pharmacy, but Target has the good stuff.
ReplyDeleteI've never really had any issues with metformin, so these problems are probably entirely related to the GB removal.
I get that vicodin isn't good to take when possibly preggers, but I imagine all narcotic pain relievers are probably no-nos, but then what can you take for serious pain? You are going to need something for right after surgery.
Oh, I was going to let you know that I didn't have any restrictions except no strenuous work for a week. I decided for myself that vaccuuming did not sound like a great post surgery idea, so I haven't attempted it yet, but unfortunately my husband has not picked up the slack at all, so I think I will be forced to vacuum today.
