Kristopher is our only birth child. He was born in Sept 2004 after almost 3 yrs of hoping to start our family. He was born 3 weeks early and weighed 7lbs 7ozs. Baby days were a breeze and he was always so happy. He decided he didn't want to stay a baby for long and by 17 months he was a talking like crazy, sleeping in his big bed, and totally potty trained. 2's and 3's were easy but with 4's we got the attitude and defiant behavior. Mid way through that year, we had a lot of ups and downs with the behavior and finally figured out a good balance on things. He was diagnosed with oppositional defiancy disorder. That was not the case, and he just needed more structure. He has changed so much and is currently in therapy on a regular basis for severe anxiety disorder. He worries constantly, and needs reassurance that things will be fine. Recently he's been diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome so we're still learning how all this works.
Here he is with Zoey. Zoey passed away in September 2011, and was his very best friend. She was his sister and it's a loss that most people do not understand unless they've had a pet that was more than an animal. There's a spark missing and a trust that was lost when we lost her. It's very hard to explain, and he still struggles to move on.
