I won't be having surgery yet. They will not do this if I'm pregnant unless it's absolutely necessary for my life. He did say that the safest point in pregnancy to do it would be the 2nd trimester, and that I'm supposed to update him when I know something next week. Otherwise, I go back in 2 weeks and we go from there. He did say he received the u/s report, and there is several small stones, and thickening, so it will need to come out.
If I'm pregnant, we will wait. After talking to him, I'd prefer to wait till after delivery if possible. It would depend on if I have more attacks. Now would not be safe.
If I'm not pregnant, next week I should be able to determine that. If my period would start, I can call him right away and get on the rush list to get it done quickly so I'm not taking a giant break from this study.
I'm not sure what to think right now. I feel fine this week. I'm extremely tired the past 2 days, but I've also been really busy and on the go.
Well, it's probably for the best, if your period comes you'll know you don't have to worry about complications from the surgery on the fetus. And now you've got things lined up so you can act quickly.
ReplyDeleteI think it seems weird that the safest time is in the second trimester and not in the first couple weeks.
My husband's cousin developed gb problems when she was pregnant and had to get hers out just a couple of weeks after delivering her baby. It doesn't sound like a desirable situation, but I bet giving birth is a much bigger deal than getting a gb removed.
