Weekend

I hope the mom's had a good mother's day yesterday.

For mother's day, I got a really cute card and hand print thing that Kristopher made in school. He spent the night at my parents house on Saturday night, and while there they got me a hanging flower planter that he picked several flowers for. He called me early to wish me a "Happy Valentines Day! Ohhhhh I mean mother's day!!! Opps!!" So funny.

So, we had most of the morning to ourselves since he was up there. We got up earlier than normal on a Sunday, and took a 2 hr walk thru the parks here and around town. It felt pretty good. I really wanted something bad and mega unhealthy for breakfast, but we came home and made some low fat wraps that ended up being pretty awesome. We ran to the greenhouse so I could pick up a nice flower for my mother, and then we went up to pick up Kristopher.

When we get there, he's just glued to the tv, and red faced. She said he wasn't eating much, and just sitting around. Uh oh....That is NEVER a good sign. The kid eats like a grown man, so him not hungry is our #1 sign. Add the just sitting around and alarms should be going off. Throw in the red face and ears and you know he's really sick. We got home and took his temp, and it was 102 under his arm. Not good. I gave him tylenol and he asked if he could watch a movie in bed. We set that up for him, and within 5 mins he was out cold. I let him nap a little and went to buy motrin. That always works best for him. When I got back, he was still asleep, but still warm. Woke him for a new temp, and he was wild and confused. Almost like night terror state, so we just got him uncovered and resting again. The fever had broke and he was soaked. He was still really out of it, so I left him sleep some more. He slept until around 7-7:30 last night. I went to check and he was just laying there all quiet, but awake. The temp was rising again, and he was a little hungry. I got him to eat a grahm cracker and take a bath, and still warm so gave him motrin.
He watched a movie and rested, and then fell asleep and slept all night. Again this morning, he is still warm and the temp is rising back up to almost 101. Frustrating!! And he has a pretty constant, nasty sounding cough. So, I am hoping to get through to the doctor as soon as they open today.
He's upset that he's home today, and this will make him lose out on the special pasta dinner they do for kids who don't miss more than 3 days. Today will put him at 3.5 days missed. He almost made it with pretty good attendance this year. And tomorrow they have a big field day/health fair event, and he's worried he will miss that. As long as we can get this fever to go away and stay away, he can go back to school. I hope he makes it back for the special day tomorrow.

So, the weekend wasn't too bad except for ending with a sick boy. I managed to stick to the diet pretty good, and get some really good exercise. I'm not weighing in till either Wednesday or Thursday. I hope to see at least a pound or 2 dropped. That will motivate me pretty good. Plus, the 2nd number will drop too, so that's always exciting and feels like more than just a small loss.
