a little more on yesterday

Yesterday really was not a good day. Mentally or in general. But it IS over, so I will recap my appt.

First I had the weight check and found out I've lost just about 2 pounds. That was nice seeing how I have not left the Easter candy alone.
Next they started bloodwork. A lot of baseline/fasting tubes, then I had to drink the nasty orange drink to do a glucose test. Blood taken every half hour for 2 hours. After that was all over, I got a snack to recover from losing what felt like half the blood in my body.
Next I had a scan which checked bone density. Apparently that is something else that we with PCOS have to worry about. It was pretty boring and lasted about 10 mins.
The final test was a fitness treadmill test. I lasted about half way and felt very weak and decided to stop. I felt stupid because it was only 15 mins on the thing. But I had not eaten much, it was almost lunch time at that point, and it was very awkward. I had to wear a thing to track heart rate and a bp cuff, while getting that checked every 5 minutes. The entire time I had them on either side of me watching every detail. Basically, I felt like a cow on display.
But, I still passed the fitness part and am claimed physically ok to exercise.
My requirements are to exercise for 3 10 min slots per week, eat a 1000-1200 calorie diet and a goal of losing 10% of my weight in 16 weeks. When I do this on my own, I do more than 10 min of exercise and was doing at least 5 days a week. Maybe I was burning myself out with it. I have set myself a personal goal of at least 4 days of 30 min on the elliptical and whatever extra exercise I can fit in. I think if I stick to it I can easily pass their goal.

  1. Hmmm.... 1000-1200 cals seems kinda light. I always heard below 1200 cals halted metabolism, but don't listen to me. I suppose that's all part of the study.
