My follow up appt will be April 6th. That's the soonest I can be seen by this doctor. They won't let me see someone else till the follow up is done.
Basically, he said my choices are:
pursue further infertility treatments and get what I want then control the pcos properly. (for real, his words)
Go on birth control and control things.
Or let it go and end up with a hysterectomy.
He bashed the herbs, saying that the only #1 way to control PCOS without hysterectomy is to go on birth control and that herbs won't do what I need.
He was annoyed with me that I was asking so many questions about what they offer as far as treatments. He isn't up to speed with what I've experienced from the RE's in the past, so he basically said he can help me with management but go somewhere else for infertility part of things.
I pushed and got an u/s done this afternoon. I will not get official results till that April 6th appt. However, I asked the tech and the lining is under control and no concerns with my uterus. Well other than the fact that it's being marked as "tilted" and she said the doctor needs to document that.
The ovaries, are bad. It looks like usual pcos line up, but bigger, chunkier looking follicles or cysts or whatever. Nothing that is taking over an ovary, but definitely larger than what I've had before. It looks kinda like the way after I ovulated, but at least 6-8 on each. Explains the pain though.
After the u/s, the probe looked like a murder weapon. Lovely pressure and all that digging around caused the spotting to get all nasty for a few hours.
I had the most awesome tech today though and she talked to me the whole time, and let me check out the screen instead of hiding it. She asked me what I thought I was seeing and confirmed rather than saying to wait for my follow up. If I decide to go back for further testing, then I want my u/s follow ups to be there. They were awesome.
So, tomorrow I need to decide if I want to call the RE back, and get pricing info on IUI's and find out what other options are. The herbs I was told I would have to go on the nasty one for 3-6 months to clean the ovaries and uterus. It's nasty and the worst of the ones I've tried, so I'd like to figure out other options. I do believe though that it's not totally true cysts, and pretty much appears to be the PCOS line up, just fatter. Maybe I should lay off the junk. yeah. That's it. The cookies and candy made my cysts fat.
