Packing is annoying. I forgot how much I hate getting ready for a move. Actual moving day isn't too bad, and even putting away doesn't bother me. It's the prep that drives me completely insane.
As of today, we had 16 days to go till we sign. I'm going to see if we can get the very end of the day on the 12th instead because the rental office doesn't open till 9:30. I don't feel like getting a start on things around 10:30 the next day. If we sign the night before, I can take a small load of things over, cleaning supplies and be partially ready. Then we can get up the next morning and actually get started on things. No waiting till lunch and dealing with humidity. I think we're doing this with the help of pick up trucks. No big moving truck. Which means several trips to get it all. The plus to this move is we both have larger cars. Actually before we only had one car. And it was worthless for moves. We both have SUV's and my back seats flip down allowing a lot of packing. I feel good about moving day. It just needs to somehow get here before I go crazy.
Things have been a little hard lately again with Kristopher's behavior and negative opinions from my parents. I won't get into details but people need to butt out. I do not agree with letting a child control everything and I wasn't raised that way. So I don't know why it's all of a sudden the way things should be. Driving me nuts. Deep breathes today and reminding myself that we only have a little over 2 weeks. I can do it. I think.
Not a moment too soon, it sounds like.
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine moving without a truck. I was shocked at how much stuff we had accumulated in only a couple years of marriage. It took us the biggest uhaul truck, 2 pickups, and dozens of car loads to move everything last time. We moved a good portion before the big day to help out... it went fairly well (there are a couple of things I would have done differently, but most of them involved the cat) and at the end of the day we were 100% moved, and 90% unpacked and settled. Not too bad.
Good luck with the move! I know what you mean about the packing...I love the un-packing part and putting away...I just can't stand the whole "pack the box" stuff.
