Signed up

Go on April 13th for the new first appt. Till then, I can eat whatever I want because if I lose just a little bit, I will no longer qualify. On with a new journey for April though. Should be interesting.....

Fat

That's what my dr appt brought me today. The conclusion that I gained OVER 20lbs since 2009 when I completed the study. I gave up, and let myself go. I know it. But I wasn't expecting things to be so bad. It's more than I've seen in a LONG time. So, I'm even more bummed and depressed again. My options based on my blood work and u/s's are to lose weight (duh!) and then clomid with being monitored. That's it. He offered me a spot in a new study. Weight loss for 4 months, and then 4 rounds of clomid cycles. I'm debating it. Either way, that's my outcome. The study pays it 100%, and includes dietary advice, meal replacement bars and exercise tips and advice. It covers all my u/s and bloodwork and doctor appts. And this time I'll know 100% the drug is clomid. He feels that is what it was before. And I responded really good 2 times, and one other. Out of 5 cycles. I've already had the HSG, so the only thing left is a whole round of blood work again, treadmill test, and Dennis gets his turn in that creepy room again. I'm debating it. I don't know how I'll be able to handle the very strict diet part of things, but if it means it's 100% paid and the same outcome, maybe I should....

An answer

Apparently Kristopher has "Cough Variant Asthma". She feels that it was triggered by a virus or a sinus infection, and we are going to have a follow up xray in 3 weeks. And, need to watch him closely with colds to make sure they run their course and move on, or if it's going to linger and cause more drama.
I'm going to stick with the practice under the understanding that she is the only doctor I will see since she is the only one who has taken the time to research all his chart, and all our sick appts and ER trips.
He is doing a lot better and has been pretty much cough free. Still acts a little worn out by the end of the day, and not 100% back with his eating yet, but A LOT better than just a week ago. So I guess it's yay for answers at this point. Time will tell how this will play out.

Pneumonia

Is the diagnosis. We went to the doctor last night, and they sent us home with an rx and said that since allergy meds are not clearing it up, that we will give this a try in case it's something missed and bacterial. He had a low grade fever and was clearly not like himself at all. He curled up and just watched tv last night. Skipped supper, barely drank anything, and was in bed early. Slept all night long with mild coughing, and it took me several tries to get him awake this morning.
Once awake, he said he wasn't hungry for breakfast. He wouldn't drink anything, and was looking very rough. He insisted he wanted to go to school, and tried to finish his homework that we skipped last night. While standing, he started to shake and got all wobbily. So, I told him to sit down, and when he turned to do so, he started falling into things. His face was very white and his lips were same. I helped him over to the couch and he was tripping and so unstable. After he laid down, he was ok. I tried to get him to drink water and he refused it. So I called Dennis and got him to come home. The kids just arrived so I had their mom call off, and said we were taking him to the ER. While rushing around to get ready to go, I had him drink a juice box. It took him about 45 mins to drink it, and typical for him is in 5 mins. Tops. So, when Dennis got home, he had to carry him to the car because he was still shakey and unstable, and very pale. We skipped the local hospital and took him straight to the one that has a children's hopsital. It does not have a children's ER but the staff was amazing. We had absolutely no wait time, registered and back to a room, and testing started very quickly. He had a sugar check, urine test, EKG, and chest xray. Urine showed that he was starting to become dehydrated, blood sugar was kinda low, and EKG was fine. Chest x-ray however shows he has pneumonia. And enough that 3 seperate people in the room could hear it when listening to the lungs. It's only on the right side, and definitely did not just start. I believe it was missed when we were seen at the local place. I'm highly upset.
So he had crackers and apple juice and got all hyper so we were released. We need to push fluids, make him eat for meds, and if he is fever free still tomorrow, he can go back to school with no restrictions. Follow up is next Wednesday or sooner if no improvement. He's already acting a lot better and he's carrying around a drink everywhere.
So that's our update. I'm exhausted and very distracted so I'll leave it at that.

To the doctor...AGAIN

Kristopher is going back to the doctor again tonight. The coughing will not ease up, and the allergy symptoms are still there. He's currently on a rx allergy med, benedryl every 4-6 hrs during the day, rx nose spray, and we've bought the air purifiers and humidifier to help. We've inclined the bed to help him breathe better at night, and none of this is working. He isn't sleeping enough, I'm not sleeping enough, and we're both getting moody and mean.
Last Friday he had his first bad report from school because he snapped at someone and was just out of it. She said it was not like him, and hopefully it's a one time thing.
I don't know what is going on, but I feel it is more than allergies, and they need to figure this out. Even if it's to give him a rx cough med for sleeping, it will make things a lot better. Obviously their current approach is not working and when it interferes with his normal day to day behavior, then it needs fixed. I hate how often we've been going to appts and dealing with this drama.
