Monday updates

It's been so busy here. So this is going to be a random post.

Zoey was sick again very early morning Saturday. She had her first accident on the floor around 6am because she was tired of going out on the ice. My mom found it. It the dark and barefoot. Enough said there.....
I called the vet at 8am and by 10 am she had a triple dose of anti-diarrhea meds and I was home with antibiotics again. No more poop at all since that last diarrhea pill. She's on her special diet and recovering great. I hope the fact we caught her early like that was good enough. Those 8 or so hours of it was plenty for how cold it is here! They are assuming since she's been tested for everything that it is just a combo of extreme sensitive stomach now that she's older and possibly doggy IBS. Anyway, she's recovering well.

This is the last week of preschool. Ever. I decided I'm not fighting to get him involved with the spring session because he's not learning anything new. The new group this year has a lot of smaller kids, mostly 3 and very early 4 yr olds and they are extremely wild. He's constantly tattling on things someone did as soon as he gets in the car. It's getting quite old and apparently no one enforces the type of behavior expectations that we've been pushing hard for. (someone is spitting in other kids faces, another one throws blocks at people, and one kid actually chases others saying they are going to cut their head off with a play knife!!) I asked what happens when his tells the teachers and he says "they still do it". Do they get time out? "No, preschool doesn't have time outs." So it's not doing much to prove our case of why we have to be respectful towards others and treat others how we would like to be treated.
And, his teachers are doing most of the crafts. He says they do everything, cutting, gluing, placement and then all he does is push things down to make sure they are stuck.
If he's not having fun like last year, and he's not learning anything or making any friends, then I'm just wasting a lot of gas to get him back and forth there. It's taking over a full tank per week to do this and I have a big 22 gallon tank. But anyway, this is the last week and his little graduation thing will be Friday. He's excited about that. They do a little party too after graduation and have cake.

I got the herbs on Friday and have started the HB formula the same day. Everything is going well but they are a liquid and taste so horrible. It's only 1/4 tsp 3 times per day but it's the worse minute of the day when it's time to take it. And it smells so horrible. Pinch the nose and swallow quickly then wash it down with what feels like a gallon of water till the taste is gone. If it works though, I guess it will be worth it!

Today's plan is to finish up Christmas shopping. Kristopher and I are having a day date out together. He's going to get the gifts he wants to get for people, have lunch together someone special and just enjoy a nice day out with no other obligations. I'm hoping that the crowds are not as extreme as the weekend. It would be nice to be totally done with things today.

  1. Doggy IBS doesn't sound good. Poor puppy.

I'm worried that those herbs are going to get old fast if they taste that bad. Hopefully you get some results and it will make them worth while.
