Birthday Time!

I know a lot of people who aren't pet owners will think I'm nuts.  But we celebrate doggy birthday's in this house.  When Zoey was a baby, we had found doggy 1st birthday invites at petsmart, and I actually got them and invited a few of our family.  Those who actually care about animals obviously.  Every year while she was healthy, we would give her a treat of cake or cupcake, and she got presents that were wrapped.  She know the word "present" well, and was like a child bouncing all around when she heard it.  As she got older, the cake had to stop, but she always got something and we made a big deal about celebrating.
So, with the puppies, I wanted to continue the tradition.  But with them, I've added steak as a treat, and obviously still with the cupcakes and presents.  Roxie is the first with a birthday, and is officially one year old.  Her birthday was yesterday.  My parents make a big deal out if it, so we had them over for a cook out on Saturday evening.  As usual, the dogs were beside the table begging (even though we never give handouts) and when it came time to give them a bite of steak, they about fell over from shock.  They were so surprised by the handout, that neither one even bothered to chew it.  I got mini cupcakes, and they each had one, and they wore party hats.  For a whole minute till they shook them off and decided it was time to retaliate against the evil hates, and rip them to shreds.  I wasn't able to get a picture of the 2 of them with the party hats, but I posted a few pics below that I found cute.
I will say this, now that she's a year old and pretty much done growing in size, she is half the size that Zoey was.  By a year old, Zoey was at least 40-45lbs.  At her biggest, she was around 62.  But that was semi overweight, and obviously not good for her.  Healthy, 45 was her good weight.  Roxie is 22lbs.  Tiny little thing, which is really nice with my moose Marley.  Roxie sleeps in bed between our feet, and is feisty and wild.  I think it's a small dog thing.  She's a lot like Zoey, but also her own totally different, unpredictable burst of craziness.  Now for the pictures.  I think the one of Kristopher and Roxie is really hilarious.  She will lay that with with anyone, truly believing that she is a baby.  The picture of Zoey on the sidebar will show you the size difference.
