News

I haven't been keeping up anymore. I'm sorry. There is so much going on here lately.
First of all, this week was an off week with babysitting. Aside from today. They came for a few hours and nap time is giving me a little break inside to catch up.
Big news now. We have decided to move. While things are not 100% normal for my parents here, it's time for us not to worry about it anymore, and to move on. For my sanity, for my relationship, for my child, it is just not working with us being here anymore. The news went about as good as to be expected. They agree, but are going to be sad to see us go. Moving weekend should be around August 1st. We decided to go back to the rental route, until we are sure if we want to stay in this area. So a few years of renting and we will see where we end up. Maybe an out of area move.
We're going to be in a much better school district which is going to be great for Kristopher. HE WILL BE A WALKER!!! No bus to worry about!! And instead of getting on a bus at 7am and not getting home till after 4, he will be dropped off at school around 8:40 and home before 3!! Makes me happy and a lot less stressed about school coming up. And it starts almost a week after this current district. So we have a little more time before the big day.
The only concern I have right now is the dog. She has been so happy here, and will be losing her yard. She will be back to leashed trips outside, and alone more when we go places. I need to work on her barking. She barks when I leave her totally alone, and she barks till we unlock the door and step inside when she hears us home. That has got to stop. New neighbors will not like that very much.
So for the most part, it will be a really good change. My husband will be dropping from an hour drive to right around 10 mins. That means more time with him too. And we will be close to EVERYTHING again. No more hour trips to the grocery store, saving a ton on gas.
The next 5 weeks are going to go by fast I'm sure. There is so much to do to prepare, and now to add to it is the school transfer stuff as well. Plus I need to get some things that we consolidated on when we moved here. In reality, 5 weeks doesn't seem like it's quite enough time.....

  1. Yeah, 5 weeks seems pretty quick! I was shocked to see the back to school ads the other day considering that graduation parties are still going on around here.

8:40 to 3? Is that a full day? That seems really short. But it is pretty cool that he can walk. I didn't live that far from school, but the route took so long that it was always over an hour on the bus. I remember getting headaches near the end of the school day and the nurse telling me no because they have to be able to observe you after you take tylenol for a couple of hours (ridiculous)... so I would have to be miserable the rest of the day and then for another hour riding home.

  2. Yeah it will be a full day. I'm not sure if that's just for Kindergarten or for all of elementary. I know high school there started at 7:30.
I'm so glad to avoid the bus trip. We had hour trips too and I felt like crap by the time I got home every day.

  3. Great news! You already sound so much happier about the whole school/bus thing. I know that was rough for you for a while now.

Do what is best for you and your family. To me, it sounds like you have a great plan!
