We also went to the park and hiked yesterday evening, and I suffered my first head wound. After telling Kristopher how we have to be careful and ducking under a tree that fell across the trail, he shrieks "MOMMY!" at a squirrel or chipmunk or something. I jump because it was one of those terror type shrieks, and of course wasn't totally under the tree. I hit it so hard I fell on my butt, then got up and touched the spot it hit and it was wet. Instant panic went through my mind because we were at least a mile up the trail. So, I took a picture of my head to see what it looked like. Mostly just brush burn/small scrap with not crazy bleeding, so we continued on our way. A little up the trail we stopped for a break at the bench, and he noticed my head bleeding and had a mini panic attack. He is terrified of blood, if I haven't mentioned that before. So, we turned around and headed back the bottom trail, stopped at the bathroom to wash out the cut, and went onto another. The most it bothered me at the time was just the fact it hurt. But coming home and washing my hair last night brought the pain and bleeding back. I guess because I have pretty long hair, the water made it bulk down and pull what had started to heal, back open again. I'm very talented I guess. We had a nice little chat on the way home about not yelling MOMMY like that unless it truly is an emergency. If it's not something serious, we talk in a much quieter, calm voice. Ha....
Oh dear! Hope that wound heals up quickly.
ReplyDeleteI would have called you a "clutz" but I think you have suffered enough! LOL!
