I've decided to create a blog to keep track of our upcoming appts and all the new stuff going on here. I haven't been updating much lately because it's been boring while preparing for the upcoming PCOS study. Now we are real close to starting to this will be my place to keep track of it all and hopefully change it to be a blog to keep track of a pregnancy in the near future. After over 4 years, it's about time right?!
Anyway, for those who don't know much about the study or what's going on, here's a recap.
In September we found out that my like 6 year diagnosis of "unexplainable infertility" was really PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome). Funny we find that out as we had maxed out all our infertility benefits, so anything to help was all out of pocket. So, everything was on hold. In November, I found out about a trial study being held for PCOS patients wanting to get pregnant. I made a few calls and quickly had my appt to come in and be evaluated to see if I was eligible. I met all the guidelines and was accepted into the study. The study is a "blind study" between clomid and femara. I won't know which med I'll receive, until the study is totally over and then we find out which it was. It is done for 5 cycles and everything is totally covered. I'll be monitored by u/s and blood work many times throughout each round, and be in touch with the nurse as well. I've had a HSG done and we determined my tubes are open. Dennis had his test done and determined he is "perfect" hahahaha...seriously though, all his came back great and she had to use that word perfect when giving us his results. I've had a total hormonal work up and various u/s done and everything is great except I definitely have PCOS. After all this time though, I'm glad to finally have a real answer.
